The Magdalene Gown

As a number of you would know, the gown is quite often used in Cambridge, especially when you're a fan of formal halls. This picture was taken before i headed off to the Scholars' dinner this year, held last Wednesday.

It dawned upon me that this would be the last time I attend such a dinner, being in my final year already. Then suddenly the piece of black cloth seemed so much more significant now. heh. The pair of cuff links were a gift from meisheng and was aptly at convenience for a prop. =)

The Scholars' dinner this year was slightly different to previous years. Other than the fact that I was served pork this time round (compared to vegetarian substitute), I had a very good chat with a biological dos, a MIT exchange coursemate and my dos. It was very good fun, especially now that my research is on biofuel.

I think magd people would appreciate that the picture captures the 'unique' design of the Magdalene gown. To read more, http://www.societies.cam.ac.uk/cuhags/gowns/m.htm
